We Missed You!
Hey Brittany, I'm so sorry you had to miss the last day of farm camp.
Taylor was kind enough to milk Abra for you.
We missed you, and hope to see both you & Taylor on family day (Sunday 5-7pm)

~Wednesday~
Today we got here and fed the baby goats and then we went to ride the horses. I got to ride Patches by myself, but on Bella i had to hold on to the horn while Allie drove her. After that team 1 had to go do bee work with steven. I was'nt to great at that. Right before it was lunch time we came inside the house to look at the bees. Then it was time for our break and we ate lunch. Then i got to milk Abby. She gave off .8 pounds of milk. Straight after that we came inside the house and made cheese.

Tuesday.
Today we have to leave at 3:15 :(. I just got finished making lip balm. It's gummy bear flavored! I cant wait to use it. The vet. is here now and we are looking at the goats droppings to see if they have worms. We got to look at the droppings in a microscope. It was pretty cool. It's 2:46 now and the snack shack is about to open and we get to have free time until 3:15 to leave. (:
Today we did the same thing as yesterday except that team 1 had to go scoop poop and instead of just riding patches we rode patches and bella. Bella was very fun because she would trot with us. Today was a bunch better also because abby was really easy to milk. Another thing that was different is we went and had 2 collect the goats poop for the doctor. I am ready for tomorrow!

Monday (:
Today at the farm was so much fun! When we first got here we were assigned our kids and our partners. After we got all of that figured out we went and fed the kids. Afterwards we went and got to choose if we wanted to learn about the horse or blacksmithing. I chose the horse(:. Then we groomed patches. Afterwards we rode patches. I went first with that. Later we toured the farm. When it was lunch time we ate and then played on the zip line. After that we went and milked the goats. My goat was abra-cadabra (Abby). It was pretty hard because she wanted to be stubborn. Directly after that we came inside to make soap, and now im sitting here working on my blog. (:

SonRidge Farm
I will be attending a 4-H Farm Camp in August.
While there I will learn things from tacking up and riding a horse...

to learning about processing Angora Goat Fiber.

I will also be assigned a dairy goat; which I will be responsible for milking, feeding, everyday care & even learn how to show her.
I will learn how to make blacksmith items in a forge

I'm going to have so much fun that I can't wait for the week to start. I will even be keeping my own blog of the week and updating it each day. Please follow my blog so you can see all the things I'm doing and learning. We can even come to family day on the farm...for free! I know that I'll want to introduce all my family to each of the animals on the farm.
